I recently returned from a road trip through several states in the USA. My friend Rachel and I made our way from Vancouver, to Baker City OR, through Salt Lake City UT, on to Albuquerque NM to deliver some equipment to a former student of hers. After a stop in Flagstaff AZ we headed west to LA across the Mojave Desert to end up with a couple of days in San Francisco before heading back home up the coast. What does one do with a couple of days in SF? Get a tattoo of course! Ok, maybe not every time, or everyone, but this time was special. Rach has made some pretty significant changes lately and the trip was the start of a new chapter in life, the tattoo part of that new chapter.
In her own words:
“a few reasons. One reason is that it is emblematic of CocoaNymph without being CocoaNymph. I wanted a reminder of that really rich time in my life. Another is that to me the ampersand is a symbol of inclusion – it is about adding more, et cetera et cetera. There is always room for more: another friend, another seat at the table, another opinion, another point of view, &”
Me? Well, as per usual, I did what I do best and documented the occasion.
Here’s to road trips, to rich pasts and to there always being room for more.
